When should I choose a coloured mirror?
You choose a coloured mirror as a decorative mirror: to add depth to a room, without the bright silver reflection of a normal mirror. As a functional mirror, where you want to see yourself clearly, it is less suitable.
Bronze or grey?
- A bronze mirror still gives a good reflection, with a light brown tint.
- A grey mirror is darker. It feels like looking in the mirror in poor light: you can see yourself, but details are hard to make out.
The thicker the glass, the more intense the colour. A 6 mm grey mirror is therefore darker than a 4 mm grey mirror. If you want a light tint, choose 4 mm; if you want more colour, choose 6 mm.
Where does a coloured mirror fit?
Coloured mirrors are often used in interiors to add depth, for example as a wall mirror or behind a bar in hospitality venues. In a public space such as a bar or restaurant, we recommend a mirror with safety film. Coloured mirrors are available with and without film.
Where is it better not to use one?
In the bathroom and for a full-length mirror you want a clear, colourless reflection. A normal mirror is the better choice there. Also read whether there are coloured mirrors for the bathroom, or take a look at the custom bathroom mirrors and the full-length mirrors.
How a mirror gets its colour and which colours are available, you can read in what coloured mirrors are. You will find all types in the range of coloured mirrors.
