What mirror thickness do I need for a full-length mirror?
For a full-length mirror, a 6 mm mirror is preferred. If it goes on a door or wardrobe door, choose 4 mm.
The rule is: the thicker the mirror, the sharper and more realistic the reflection. That is why 6 mm is the first choice, if the location allows it.
Full-length mirror on a door or wardrobe door
A full-length mirror often goes on a door or wardrobe door, with mirror tape. A 6 mm mirror weighs about 15 kg per m2 and is probably too heavy for that. In that case we recommend 4 mm. The door is strong and flat enough to fix that mirror firmly with mirror tape. How to do this is explained in how to mount a full-length mirror.
Full-length mirror on the wall
If the full-length mirror goes on a wall, 6 mm is preferred, ideally with safety film on the back. If the mirror breaks, no large pieces of glass fall down. You mount such a mirror with mirror clips, for example.
How thick a mirror should be in general is explained in which thickness to choose for a custom mirror. You order a custom full-length mirror via full-length mirror.
