Which thickness of stick-on mirror should I order, also for a cupboard door?
For a stick-on mirror, 4 mm is usually enough, also on a cupboard door. A mirror of, for example, 400 x 1200 mm for a cupboard door is best ordered in 4 mm: you keep the weight as low as possible, so the door does not suffer too much from it.
Which thickness you choose depends on the size, the shape and the place where you stick the mirror. We supply stick-on mirrors in 3, 4 and 6 mm.
Which thickness for which size
- 3 mm: for small rectangular mirrors under 1000 x 1000 mm. This is a very thin mirror.
- 4 mm: for slightly larger sizes and if you want a bit more sturdiness, such as on a cupboard door.
- At least 4 mm: for round, oval or rounded mirrors. This gives the necessary sturdiness and prevents distortion of the reflection. At 3 mm the edges of a round or oval side cannot be ground, at 4 mm they can.
- 6 mm: for extra large mirrors, larger than 1000 x 2000 mm. This gives the most stability and prevents the mirror from bending.
The mirror configurator helps you choose: it only shows the thicknesses that can technically be supplied for your size and shape, also for a custom stick-on mirror. How to fix the mirror in place is explained in how to mount a full-length mirror.
