What is a mirror with safety film?

A mirror with safety film is a normal mirror with a film bonded to the back. If the mirror breaks or gets damaged, the pieces of glass stay stuck to the film and no dangerous shards fall down. This type of mirror is also called a safety mirror.

6 mm or 4 mm with film

If safety is your priority, preferably take a 6 mm mirror with safety film. The strength of the thicker mirror and the film together give the best protection. A 4 mm mirror with film is an alternative, for example if 6 mm is too thick or too heavy for your situation. A 6 mm mirror weighs about 15 kg per m2, a 4 mm mirror about 10 kg per m2.

Larger sizes

Via the website you can order a mirror up to 1500 x 3000 mm. With safety film, this goes up to 2000 x 3000 mm.

Note when mounting

Mirror tape and concealed mounting kits do not stick to safety film. So mount a mirror with film using mirror adhesive, a mirror profile or mirror clamps.
