How do I prevent condensation on my mirror?
You prevent condensation on your mirror by ventilating your bathroom well. If the bathroom is not ventilated enough, a mirror heater is the solution: it keeps the mirror warm, so it does not steam up.
Condensation is water vapour from the air that settles on a cold surface. With good ventilation you remove that water vapour, so it does not end up on your mirror. A mirror heater works the other way round: the mirror is no longer cold, so the vapour does not settle on it. That keeps your mirror clear.
How a mirror heater works
You fit the mirror heater to the back of the mirror and connect it to the light connection point behind the mirror. When you switch on the light, the heater switches on too. Our mirror heaters have no transformer, which saves a lot of space behind the mirror. They are self-regulating and you connect them directly to the light connection point.
What to keep in mind
- Always leave space between the mirror and the wall. The warm air must be able to escape from behind the mirror; if too much heat builds up, the heat can make the mirror break.
- The heater only warms the area where it is fitted, plus a few centimetres around it. Where there is no heater, the mirror can still steam up.
- Do not mount a mirror with a mirror heater using adhesive or tape. You can use mirror clips or a concealed mounting kit. The heater must not touch the fixings.
