When to choose the Semco Klima 500

The Klima 500 offers firm solar control without the room turning gloomy. With an LTA of 51% and a ZTA of 26% you keep out a good deal of heat and still retain plenty of daylight. Compared with the Klima 400 more light comes in and the tint is more neutral; if you want maximum solar control instead, the 400 is stronger. This type suits facades with a lot of glass and large, floor-height windows facing south, where you want to temper overheating without losing the light. For even more daylight, look at the Klima 600 or 700.

Unlaminated or laminated: choose the right composition

The coating sets the solar control, but you decide the build of the pane. This category holds versions with an unlaminated inner pane and versions with a laminated inner pane. An unlaminated pane is lighter and suitable where no safety requirements apply. A laminated inner pane, such as 33.1, 44.2 or 55.2, meets the safety requirements of NEN 3569, dampens sound better and stays whole on breakage because the interlayer holds the fragments. A number of laminated compositions can also serve as light roof glazing up to a limited width; the exact limit is stated with each article. The outer pane is a standard 6 mm with the solar control coating.

Insulation, cavity and finish

Every option has an argon-filled cavity, and you choose its width yourself. That width sets both the insulation value and the room you need in the frame; with a cavity of 15 or 16 mm the Ug-value comes to 1.0 W/m²K. So you insulate well and keep the solar heat out at the same time, because the solar control coating also has the properties of a low-e (HR++) coating. Cavity widths from 6 to 16 mm are standard; 18 and 20 mm are available at a surcharge. You choose the type and colour of the spacer alongside in the configurator.
