Glass floor 40 mm is tempered laminated glass that consists of three tempered glass plates, each 12 mm thick, that are connected with several transparent PVB foils. There are a total of 8 foils, each 0.38 mm thick. By toughening the glass, the glass becomes 4 to 5 times stronger than untempered glass. And the foil ensures that the glass remains attached to the foil in the event of glass breakage and that no opening is created in the glass. This makes it suitable for situations where this extra strength is necessary and fall-through safety is necessary.
Safety requirements apply to the application of the correct glass type and thickness. Read the explanatory notes below

Points of attention for glass floor 40 mm:
Tempered-laminated glass can be used outdoors, however, if the edges of the glass are exposed to moisture for a long time, there is a real risk of delamination of the glass (release of and / or air bubbles between the glass plates, at the edges of the glass). This can result in the transparent film becoming white in these places over time. Delamination is inherent in the long-term exposure of moisture on the end face of laminated glass and is always out of warranty. This applies not only to us but to all factories and companies that supply laminated glass. It is not a production error, but a product specification that is warned about
Once the glass has been tempered in the oven you can not adjust it. The glass plate will break with every attempt you try to change it. It is therefore very important that you order the correct glass size and with all needed additions in it (such as drill holes). You can no longer add this once the glass has tempered
You are responsible at all times for applying the safety standards and requirements applicable in your country! In the Netherlands, this includes NEN-3569:2011 (“Vlakglas voor gebouwen – Risicobeperking van lichamelijk letsel door brekend en vallend glas – Eisen” voor Nederland).
For the production of custom glass, tolerances have been determined within the glass industry in terms of dimensions, quality and finish. These are industry-wide and are used by all glass companies. Please note that it is possible that glass may have a small size deviation (approx. 1 - 2 mm), and certain miniscule damages cannot always be claimed
Think carefully about the right glass size. Size changes are no longer possible once your order has gone into production
Think carefully about the correct glass thickness. We cannot take any responsibility for incorrectly applied and/or mounted glass. Get advice from a structural engineer or architect
Within the glass industry it is customary to calculate a minimum area per piece. This is necessary because the handling of an order is always necessary and this prevents a glass plate from costing € 1.50, for example, while the actual production costs are much higher. The minimum area to be calculated differs per product and is stated under the tab "More information" on the product page
