Antique mirror 6 mm (standard mirror color) is a mirror of 6 mm thickness with spots in it that make the mirror look old. In the glass industry we always call mirrors "silver plated", because the glass has a "silver layer" on the back (not real silver but a metal layer that looks like silver). This thickness is most commonly used. Due to the thickness there is little chance of a distorting mirror effect, so you can safely order these mirrors in a size of 1400 x 3000 mm.

You can have the edges of 6 mm mirror glass finished with a polished finish and you can have a bevelled edge of up to 30 mm wide.

Points of attention 6 mm Antique mirror:

  • The edges of a mirror are the most sensitive to moisture (rust formation over time). When you hang a mirror in a damp room, you can protect the ends with a metal red or clear metallic lacquer. It is not necessary, but in the long term this will increase the lifetime of your mirror
  • For the production of custom glass, tolerances have been determined within the glass industry in terms of dimensions, quality and finish. These are industry-wide and are used by all glass companies. Please note that it is possible that glass may have a small size deviation (approx. 1 - 2 mm), and certain miniscule damages cannot always be claimed
  • Think carefully about the right glass size. Size changes are no longer possible once your order has gone into production
  • Within the glass industry it is customary to calculate a minimum area per piece. This is necessary because the handling of an order is always necessary and this prevents a glass plate from costing € 1.50, for example, while the actual production costs are much higher. The minimum area to be calculated differs per product and is stated under the tab "More information" on the product page
